Comparing the movie with book

In this blog I am comparing the difference between Frankenstein the book with Frankenstein the movie. There several differences between the book and movie such as Frankenstein getting married and his dad being there, Monster bringing Elizabeth back to life. There are many examples that can be explained this blog will cover everything you want to know as far as the similarities and differences.

The similarities between Frankenstein the movie and Frankenstein the movie are the marriage between Elizabeth and Victor happened in both but things were changed to make them better for each situation. Another example is having the monster being in both but changes the what the monster does and his words change a little bit. There the exact same scenes in the both but the order was reversed to help with certain things. The events were happening that were the same but in the order changed.

The differences between Frankenstein the movie and Frankenstein the book were that the movie started where the book ended was a real plot twist because I did not expect that to happen. Victors father was killed in the book during his marriage but in the movie he was alive during the marriage in the book which I thought was strange. The monster killing Elizabeth in the movie then lighting her on fire but in the book he killed Justine and left her to die not bring her back to life major difference changed the way I imagined things. Victor in the movie skipped his trip to England instead got married and went on a honeymoon in the book he travels to England and does not go on a honey moon.

In the last 2 paragraphs you have seen the differences and similarities of the book Frankenstein and Frankenstein the movie. Hope this cleared up the differences and similarities for you to better understand the book and movie.

Frankenstein Blog

In the book Frankenstein the author Mary Shelley uses certain issues such as science and knowledge for the good of the people and not for personal ambitions without having to take personal responsibility. It also is a novel of social rejection  based on external looks  and the inability to accept the rejection given. The real monster in Frankenstein the book is not victor but the creature himself who dared to undermine laws of nature then play God.

The first aspect of the prompt is how the novel uses social rejection as a way to reveal the true monster in the story of Frankenstein. The monster faces social rejections from his creator then gets rejected by the towns people when he reveals himself. An example is  “I knew you didn’t want me to be a part of yours, that you rejected me moments after you gave me life” (Shelly chapter 11 page 92).That is one example of how his creator socially ignored him and hurt him deep down. Another example is the family rejecting the monster “Felix and Agatha were shocked to see me and immediately thought the worst. They cried out in fear and the boy dragged me away from his father. He threw me out of the house, and Agatha fainted.” (Shelly chapter 11 page 93). This is another example of how the family rejects the monster when he reveals himself to the family. Those are 2 quoted times in the book when the monster was socially rejected.

The second aspect of the book is the external looks and the rejection that the monster gives himself after he is not able to accept his true self. The creature after he has been socially rejected he looks at himself and says that he is not worth it. He also feels like no body wants to be around him because of how ugly he is not even his creator he believes will say he is pretty. “I knew that no one in the world would ever accept me because I looked this way” (Shelly chapter 11 page 85). This quote is explaining how the monster after being rejected by the family he can no longer be able to socially accept himself and believes that the whole world will not be able to accept him as well. Another example is how the creature feels that his creation will not accept him for what he looks like. “I hated you Frankenstein, for bringing me into a world that would never accept me” (Shelly chapter 11 page 85) This quote is explaining how the creature thinks that if the world will not accept me you as my creator will not accept me as well.

Mary Shelly seems to use this 2 aspects as a way to call the reader not to forget what really makes the true monster in the book of Frankenstein. Such as not forgetting about the experiments and development of this creature to come to life. If we read between the lines a little bit we see the author telling us that the moral values should be not be forgotten and the dead remain dead. She also implies that every man has to take responsibility for there actions with every action there are consequences. A true man should be ready to take responsibility for his actions and all consequences associated with it. In the story the creature is simply the victim of victors scientific ambitions that that cause the creature to become the real monster in the story. That is why the creature in the story is truly the monster in a more human like state. That is why I think the true monster of the book Frankenstein is the monster himself that only makes since because he was a victim turned human that real human issues.

Valentine’s Day Debate

Valentine’s Day is  a day that is celebrated throughout the world. We spend on average 14 billion dollars each year on this day alone. It is crazy to think that this is a very diabolical issue that is debated on even if it should be celebrated at all or if it should be kept as a holiday. It does not seem that one day makes us happy then all the other days of the year we are the same old grumpy people. Image result for should valentines day be celebratedHow is this whole issue becoming a cogent argument that has had our heads spinning since it was invented back many centuries ago over in england for a king. The two debatable topics are “Should it be celebrated” or “Should it not be celebrated” that is two cogent arguments that persuade one side and the other for a very argumentative but confusing issue. According to a study done on debate.org over this topic it is said that 47% percent say yes and 53% percent say no it should not be a holiday. It is a topic that is needed to be debated for a while and here are the 2 sides presented for you.

Should Valentine’s day be celebrated it is an issue that has long been debated for many years why is there one day out of the year that we spend being happy but then the next day go back and be the same person we were before. According to debate.com 43% say yes it should and the reasons why are because it puts fun back into schools one day gets get a free fun day to celebrate with friends plus have parties to show love. Image result for Valentines should be celebratedAnother reason is that is helps remind each other just how much we love them a little bit more than we already do. It is said that is the most expensive holiday besides Christmas because we send cards and chocolate and gifts. It is also has been a tradition for years in america for us to come together and love each other. Personally it makes me feel very happy on that day to receive cards plus gifts it is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate besides thanksgiving and christmas. Could you imagine if it was used everyday how much more love would be poured into the world that is not already there. Some say we should keep it but it is not the greatest holiday invented because we should not just have one day to love each other take each day to love each other. Others take the day as the day that love reigns all throughout the day and it combines one day for all the love that is already cultivated by our culture. That is the argument on why it should be kept as a holiday in the United States plus in the world without that one day we might not be able to express our love in one day.

Should Valentine’s day not be celebrated according to Debate. org 53% of people say no that it should not celebrated or be apart of our holidays. Some believe that there is no point to having the day because we should show our love to each other everyday not just one day a year. Another person believes that is sucks there is no point or there is no evidence to back up the truth behind the holiday. Image result for Valentine's day should not be celebratedHow can we be for certain that is areal holiday if we not even agree on why it should or should not be celebrated. A lot of people have said that it should be eliminated from our calendars because it is one whole devoted to a pointless topic of love and roses and chocolate. In my opinion I think there should not be a holiday at all we should be able to give the one’s we love a rose or chocolates or cards every day of the year not just some boring day on the calendar. It says in the article “History of Valentines day” that they used animals to slaughter to prove they love one another or used other means to prove a point. It sounds ridiculous that we have to use animals or love symbols to be able to prove love. This is a very distinct issue that should be reconsidered.

Scientific Revolution

Image result for thomas kuhn philosophy of science

Scientific Revolution has shaped our culture by providing with inventions such as the light bulb, cell phones, mathematics and science. Without scientific revolution we would not have the use for what we know today as revolutions. We might be still using candles for light sources or still doing math with old methods instead of new and improved processes. In the article “The structure of Scientific revolution written by the Newsela staff” talks about the American historian and philosopher of science Thomas Kuhn and his scientific revolutions. It proposes 2 disagreements that was mentioned in a book that he wrote they are the Role of science and the route to Normal Science. The role of science is a very fascinating because without we would not be able to live, or survive if the role of science was not implemented into us on it’s purpose. “Sometimes a normal problem, one that should be solvable by known rules and procedures, cannot solved by the experts” This explains how the role of science comes in to be able to provide experts with the ability to go outside of normal ways and develop a new way. The route to normal science can often be hard to get there if the rules and complexity’s were not in place for discoveries. “Scientists in a field rarely disagree over fundamentals, since they all have accepted the same paradigm. They share the same rules and standards. That agreement it produces is necessary for normal science- for creation and tradition.” This quote is explaining that without finding the normal route to discoveries which can be tricky would have lead to us not being able to discover some of the most scientific revolution without a route to guide us to those discoveries. In the video 10 scientific revolutions it talk 10 scientific revolutions that is currently trying or will eventually change the world. It opened the idea of new revolutions that had not even be known. For example the EXO-SUITS which are suits that will revolutionize the military uniforms forever. There has been technology like it that the military is currently using and ‘the current one can last about a 4 day mission”. The EXO-SUITS will provide soldiers with the ability to be able to wear a suit that will monitor their heart rate, then allow them to carry up to 200 pounds of stuff. It is expected to be released in 2018. It might just be the new revolution of the military, taking an old current idea and making it into a completely new idea with more technology. That is one way that a scientific revolution was used to be able to reform what is now used in an entirely new way. With out the role of science plus the countless ways we can get there as proposed by this scientist we might not have this amazing technology.

In the Article “The structure of Scientific Revolutions (by Newsela staff) the author uses quoted words to be able to further explain both of his arguments on the role of science and the route to normal science by. Using some famous people who created revolutions as a way to further explain the issue. “The most obvious examples of scientific revolutions are famous episodes in scientific development that are already called a revolutions. These include major turning points in science associated with Copernicus, Newton, Lavoisier, and Einstein.” This is one example of how the use the quoted words to be able to reference famous revolutionist in science. Another example of how the author used the quoted words is by quoting an essay by Thomas Kuhn to explain the normal science. “In this essay normal science means that research firmly based on past scientific achievements”. This quote further explains the issue to of what normal science really is. It is a very feign argument with 2 very cogent arguments to be able to try to be able to persuade the readers. These are 2 examples on how the author is using quoted words from the essay and things that are used by Thomas Kuhn to be able to provide us with a cogent argument that can be rather proven or not proven. These 2 quoted text personifies the meaning of what it means to look at normal science in a new and a new way to interpret text from Thomas Kuhn. These are 2 examples of quoted words to further help explain the diabolical issues that are presented. This furthermore pushes the issues to one side than the other which is why it is such a feign argument.

In my opinion Scientific revolution is something that has revolutionized science in a whole new way by creating the light bulb, computers, phones, TV, new ways to solve math and science plus social studies benefited. With the revolutions in science or math or social studies we might still be stuck in the past. My personal connection was when I took math last semester (Afm). Philosophers made some of what I studied in math providing a short or easier way to do math such as providing the calculator, graphing paper, rulers. Without those I would still be writing math problems the long way. Those revolutions provide me a shorter time to finish my math than the hours that it would take me to do some of those steps with calculators or rulers. It made my mind be open to the fact that there are so many revolutions that have evolved from many different revolutionists in the world. It has really simplified our world into the easier world it is today. People use to not have access to the internet or a computer we used encyclopedias or other forms to write a paper. Some people had to write there own math problems out with all the steps involved but it was quickly solved. Thanks to the revolutionists to have come with these amazing ideas that have revolutionized the world. Can not wait to see the next set revolutions that will pop up or being discovered in the future such as flying cars and other crazy revolutions.

Teen Challenges

Image result for Schools should be delayed for more sleepImage result for Schools should be delayed for more sleep

Paragraph 1 (Summary of the articles)

There are a vase number of teen challenges in a teen’s life such as the debate over whether school should start later or end later and the impact it has on kids to other challenges such as bullying and many others. The teen challenge I chose was how kids are not getting enough sleep plus school start times. In the article “It’s back to class, and less sleep, for many highschoolers” by the Chicago Tribune it talks about the teen challenge of school starting early and them having mountains of homework which leads them to get fewer than the recommended 8-9 hours of sleep. One example is a girls named Nicole who balances her classes plus extracurricular’s but not receiving sleep. “Nicole Bankowski gets about five hours of sleep. Along with taking four AP classes, Bankowski edits the school newspaper, sings in the choir, and is treasurer of the student council. Bankowski has so much to do that she usually doesn’t start her homework until 10:30 p.m.” This quote explains how one teen balances extracurricular’s plus school but can not sleep due to her amounting stress it is one part of the teen challenge associated with this issue. “Early school start times also push everything else forward, disrupting family schedules. Students at some high schools have lunchtime as early as 10 a.m. These students come home very hungry, then don’t want to eat dinner with the family at a normal time.” This quotes shows the effect on kids with the current school time and how lunch is affecting them in daily lives. In the article “High Schools starting later to help sleepy teens written by Michelle Thadeau” this article talks about how starting school late will be a benefit to kids but it causes the other issue of kids starting school late then leaving later than have previously. It is a debate that this article talks about whether it is a good idea or if it is not a good idea. One example is “The Minneapolis school district, for example, changed its start time from 7:20 to 8:40 a.m., giving its 12,000 high schoolers an extra hour and twenty minutes each morning. Wahlstrom says the students have benefited from the change.” This quote explains how a lady from the university of Minneapolis was following the school districts that were implementing the changes, and how she noticed the change after the time was moved. “We found that our students were more on time and in better attendance first period than they had been in the past,” she says.” This quote is according to a supervisor for one of the districts that have implemented the change and the positive impact that the change has made on the students since the time was changed.

Paragraph 2 (Contrasting and contradicting)

During the article “back to class and less sleep for many highschoolers” the author compared how the less sleep we get as a kid compared to the amount will get as teenager only decreases dramatically. Through out both articles there are a lot of comparing and contradicting that occurs. For an example the first article ” back to class and less sleep for many high schoolers” and the second article “High schools starting later to help sleepy teens” they both contradict each other the first one talks about changing the times to improve kids from being sleepy. To the second article talking about how lunch times are a affect on kids now with the current times now in place. Those are two examples on how both articles have contrasting opinions on the same issues. Both authors use the same topic to contrast  there opinions. Those are 2 ways that the authors use contrasting in there articles to better make the reader understand the topic. Contradictions were made when the articles described how later times cause kids to go home later leaving them with more work and less sleep. The second article said that lunches now are affected because it leaves kids with a hungry stomach because they eat so early. That explains the contradictions that are made between the 2 articles on the same issue but further explains the issue.

Paragraph 3 (Opinion)

I have a personal connection to these 2 articles because for years I have wanted them to change our bell schedule since it is really hard for me get up at 6:00 and get ready for school. But this is a very feign issue because it probably want happen. Even though it is a very cogent argument i am pretty sure that it will take a few cogent argument to make a engender change. In my opinion i believe we would benefit from the change because it make kids have higher test scores than test scores now which are decreased due to the lack of kids not getting sleep. Providing kids with more time to do homework in school instead piling it on for them to complete while juggling other classes not just one particular class. If the bells were changed it might transfigure the way we think about school in general it would provide for more teachers to not have to yell at kids over there sleeping in class. All could be prevented if the bell schedule was changed to a later time it would not hurt a thing if we did. But with these fictive articles i wonder if anything will change we can only hope for the best. That is why I believe that different bell times might be revolutionary for kids to actually get 8-9 hours of sleep. That is my whole opinion on the topic hope it sparks a cogent and trans-figurative

Fake News is a real Issue

Image result for Fake news

Paragraph 1 (Fake News review of 3 articles)

(Fake news author is fired; apologizes to those disappointed by his actions by Joe Marasuk)

During the recent presidential election a new form of news media has spun out of the headlines it called Fake News. Fake news has not only destroyed life’s but has also turned our brain into something crazy plus how can we tried to deceiver the fake and real. A Davidson grade was fired because he got caught writing fake news which was read by “6 million people”. In one of his articles during the election he made people believe that Hilary Clinton had “Fraudulent votes in Ohio”.  Why our brain is being transformed due to the fake news that is circling around the internet because it causes our brain to go into a tail spin and it causes us turn us against the news. One example is pizza gate which was spun from a fake news site saying that “Hilary Clinton had a sex trafficking ring inside of a pizzeria in Dc” It caused a guy to go the pizzeria and start shooting up the place do to what he read as he thought it was true but it was fake. Another example is the women who traveled outside the country to a country that was believed to have Ebola when came back to the US tested and did not have it. It was generated into a fake news website when she got home due to her story have been written she lost her house and her job. Another example is the Hilary Clinton votes that were found in a barn in Ohio but to fake news it was not true. She did not stash votes in a barn in Ohio but it took a fake news article to make it seem real. These are 3 good examples on how Fake news can destroy lives, make out brains be switched into something it is not, plus how it prevents the cause and effect of so many issues. This is a very cogent argument on what is real and what is fake when it comes to the news.

Paragraph 2 (Numbers and how they play a role in fake news)

Numbers play a big important role in this Fake News conundrum is the amount of people that read these story’s. The first example of this is “6 million people” that read the story of the Davidson’s grads stories. Another examples of how numbers play a role is the amount of stories that are out there for the internet to go crazy. Through Facebook people saw plus shared millions of stories throughout the election cycle that is fake. During the previous election cycle people seemed to read more about  articles on candidates that were fake than those articles were true. 6 million people read stories about fake news wonder how many of the 6 million people believe it. Numbers play hug role such as the amount of people who read fake news stories to those who shared it or pinned or tweeted it. For examples during over the past couple of days that the president has been in office there have been fake news that have been shared that are fake. Numbers also come in to play when people right a fake news story with the amount of money that these fake news writers make. The Davidson grad said when he wrote an apology that he made a lot of money off of it but it was worth it. So that is 2 good examples on how numbers can be interpreted into fake news through the cash that people make and the amount of views that these stories generate. Authors often use numbers in there articles to make there stories seem more believable. Such as stating facts about a date or money in an article. Numbers can persuade people to believe that there story is really incredible even though the whole story is fake also statistics or studies can also persuade people one way or another.

Paragraph 3 (My opinion)

In my opinion Fake news is the craziest thing i have ever heard of in my life. I have read fake news before and probably not realized it. In the increase in social media the fake news can become a epidemic if it continues to grow like it has already. I hope that people will stop putting fake news out there because it will cause people to mistrust the news all together. The more fake news that comes out it will cause people to stop watching, viewing, or reading the news if they can not deceiver the truth from fake. It might cause a epidemic if people start to not believe the truth it could seriously become a debate that finally shed light on the truth of the matter that fake news is not real news. I hope people stop writing fake news it makes no since because it creates a bigger issue for everyone. In my opinion it is not write to tell a story that is not real make it correct instead of writing fake stuff. I hope people stop making money off of something that only can hurt them and there brain instead of helping them. Why go through the trouble of making false statements just to make money i hope people will understand it is not right to reader if the information is misleading. In my opinion i should be allowed to read what i want to and it be true than to read something that is fake all together and be more confused. I have read fakes news but i did not know that i had read fake news until after reading it then it hit me that i had read something that was fabricated what i thought it was true because it had logic to back up the story with charts and graph. That is my opinion in the whole fake news articles.
